Playing Jawbreaker on your PAC Mate

Jawbreaker is a game installed by default on Pocket PCs and your PAC Mate. The game is setup on a playing board where five different types of jawbreakers are available for bursting. This article will help you get up and running in no time. The jawbreaker help states that Jawbreaker is a game that is easy to learn but difficult to master. Don't be put off if you aren't doing perfectly at first.

Installing the graphics file

Before you can start playing Jawbreaker you will need to install a jaws graphics file that labels the graphics used in the game. To install the graphics file complete the following steps.

  1. Steps for installing the Jawbreaker graphics file
  2. Download the Jawbreaker graphics file
  3. Select open when Internet Explorer asks you what you want to do with the file.
  4. Highlight the jawbreaker.jgf file and use control+c to copy it to the clipboard.
  5. Ensure your computer is set to show all including hidden files and folders
  6. Using ActiveSync copy the jawbreaker.jgf file to your \windows\settings\enu folder on your PAC Mate.

Playing the Game

To begin playing the game complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the game from the start menu, programs, games and jawbreaker.
  2. Activate your Jaws Cursor and use your arrows to navigate around the screen. Consult your PAC Mate's help for using advanced commands for information on the Jaws Cursor.
  3. Use your Braille displays routing buttons or Left Mouse click to burst the jawbreakers.

Now that you're this far lets talk for a minute about how to play the game. You will notice that you have what looks like five different randomly placed symbols on the board. Your board is setup with the score at the top, the playing board in the middle and menus and the do over button at the bottom.

The object of the game is to get as many of the same symbols (jawbreakers) together before you burst them. The board is almost always constructed with some symbols together. Try using your routing button above these symbols to burst them.

This should get you started with JawBreaker for now. If you want to talk about stratigies for playing, comparing scores and much much more join the User Community
