Custom Scripts
PAC Mate allows users to create scripts in order to customize most standard Pocket PC applications for speech access. If you are familiar with JAWS scripts, then you already know how to do scripting for PAC Mate. In fact, you will need to use JAWS Script Manager on your PC to compile your script files before transferring them to PAC Mate.
To help you with scripting, Freedom Scientific has put together a comprehensive Script Function Reference Manual. If you are new to script writing, you may also wish to peruse the JAWS Basics of Scripting Manual Note-- Please ensure you are using the correct compiler for the intended PAC Mate Platform. You may download an archive containing the two compilers. Download the scompiler archive
Here are PAC Mate scripts contributed by PAC Mate users. The majority of scripts on this page have not been tested with the PAC Mate Omni and we do not recommend you install them on your PAC Mate Omni. As the scripts are tested or newer versions of the scripts released their descriptions will be updated to reflect their Omni support, so please check back often. The descriptions list the last known version of the PAC Mate firmware that the scripts were successfully tested to run under. To determine your PAC Mate's firmware do the following:
