Youtube on your PAC Mate Omni

This article describes how to access youtube videos on your PAC Mate. To do this, the PAC Mate makes use of off the shelf applications that run on a standard Windows Mobile device. The first is called TCPMP, (The Core Pocket Media Player). The second adds common video sites to your start menu, one of these sites is youtube.

To install youtube support on your PAC Mate Omni do the following.

  1. Download tcpmp-pacmate.cab and flashvideo-pacmate.cab
  2. Copy the files to your PAC Mate Omni using either ActiveSync, Windows Mobile Device Center or a storage card.
  3. Press enter on the files to install the .cab files to your PAC Mate.
  4. Once the files are installed, do a warm reset of your PAC Mate.
  5. After your PAC Mate Omni restarts, in your start menu under Programs, there is a video sites application, launch it and select youtube.
  6. Find a video on youtube and you will be given two choices, view or download. Select view.
You will know that the download is complete when you hear your PAC Mate Omni say, tcpmp. You can press enter to hear your video. Also, you may use your up and down arrows to adjust video playback volume.
